About SONIC
SONIC is a Non Governmental Organisation registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 (No.XXI of 1860) in the year 2007 and working in the state of Puducherry and Tamilnadu from then. The organisation has board members as specified in the Act and set of well qualified and philanthropist persons as advisers to guide the working team in right direction to achieve the goals of the organisation. The objective of the organisation is to bring up the poor, marginalised and economically weaker section of people in the society and support them to fight against social problems caused by dependency, inequality and exploitation and place them in the main stream of life through regular interventions, programmes, meetings, training, etc.
OBJECTIVES:
- To promote health, hygiene, and wellness awareness among communities through programs, campaigns, and capacity-building activities.
- To undertake relief, rehabilitation, and emergency support during natural or man-made disasters, ensuring timely assistance to affected populations.
- To collaborate with and support non-profit and profit-based organizations, trusts, welfare groups, and community organizations to enable sustainable development and social well-being.
- To design, implement, and support socio-economic development initiatives, including livelihood enhancement, skill development, and self-employment programs for individuals and marginalized groups.
- To advance and facilitate education in all forms, promoting access to quality learning opportunities for children, youth, and adults.
- To conduct and support social research projects that contribute to evidence-based planning, policy development, and community welfare.
